We decided to try this place for lunch.  The food was delicious, full of flavor, and was served fairly quickly after we ordered.  The atmosphere was pleasant and the customer service was great!  We will definitely return to eat here again!

You will like this place if you are a carb monster.

Sisi's Hong Kong Cafe is located in a rundown strip mall along Hesperian Boulevard in unincorporated San Lorenzo. It is one of a handful of HK style cafes in the San Leandro/San Lorenzo area. I had this place bookmarked for quite some time and decided come here for dinner with my family on 07/13/2019.

The place was pretty busy when we walked in at around 6:15 pm. We were greeted and seated quickly at a corner table. Unlike the rest of the strip mall, the spacious interior was clean and nicely decorated. There were more than a dozen tables for dine-in customers. TVs were showing Chinese programming with no sound.

One of the servers brought us tea/water and menus. Their menu featured a wide array of HK style cafe fare plus a la carte dishes you find in Chinese restaurants. We decided to order the following to share:

HK Style Char Kway Teow - Char Kway Teow is a popular noodle dish in Southeast Asia and this was made with a Hong Kong twist. Flat rice noodles were wok fried with BBQ pork, eggs, shrimp, and bean sprouts. The seasoning was curry based instead of the traditional soy and chili based. The taste was decent, but the "wok hay" (breath of the wok) was missing. Also, they were skimpy on the ingredients.

Baked Seafood Spaghetti - It was a heaping plate of overcooked spaghetti (not unusual) covered with a bechamel-like sauce (known as the "white sauce" in Honk Kong lingo) and topped with cheese and seafood. The whole thing was then baked until the cheese melted. The sauce was on point but heavy. The seafood (squid, scallops, and shrimp) was surprisingly decent. I could only eat a small portion of it since it was a heart attack waiting to happen.

Baked Portuguese Chicken Rice - It was a plate of egg fried rice with chicken, potatoes, and aromatics covered with a sauce made with mild yellow curry and topped with dried coconut flakes. The sauce was slightly sweet and creamy and very good with the fried rice. But despite that, this dish was a fail since the chicken was MIA (we only found a few small pieces in the dish).

Baked Tomato Beef Rice with Fried Egg - Failed similarly to the Baked Portuguese Chicken Rice. The tomato sauce (known as the "red sauce") was on the sweet side. The beef, much like the chicken in the other dish, was MIA.

The staff was cordial but the service was hit or miss. With T/T, it was less than $50. If you like carbs, you will like this place since they give you nothing but carbs. But for me, I prefer more protein. Glad I tired, but a return trip is highly unlikely.

    BONUS MATERIAL:

    - Parking lot on site.
    - Major credit cards accepted.

Easy dining nothing fancy but taste is decent. We typically dine here once a week or 2-3 times a month. Frequent diners.

Not bad. I can't believe that I haven't left a review yet. Been here plenty for dinner. Typical Hong Kong fare food. Some dishes are better than others. We like their beef chow fun, scrambled eggs with shrimp over chow fun. They used to have this short rib dish in a sweet honey sauce which was really good but I didn't see it on the menu.   Their braised pork belly with mustard green is tender and tasty, the elders in the family really enjoyed the dish. Wide variety of dishes from fried rice to fried flounder to clay pots dishes. Prices are moderate yet still affordable, better customer service if you speak the language.

This place was OK. The best thing that I had there was the rice rolls. The sauce on the rice rolls is AMAZING. I also had the curry and that was OK. Tasted like home except not as good, hut but it satisfy the craving for now! Service is okay on par with other Chinese restaurants do not expect that amazing service however your food will be brought to you and you will get a check.

Parking can be difficult it is on a strip mall on the side of a busy road.
